New Year, New Changes and New Challenges

“Bid someone farewell- to say goodbye to someone.”

Every start of a year brings out changes and challenges. It is my second year in Japan and I am embracing another big change. On New Year’s Day, I had to bid Fukuoka family farewell.

It’s New Year but Goodbye Fukuoka

For more than a year in Fukuoka, I lived in a family with members who are very nice. We had spent together doing various things but everything came to an end on January 1st. So, on the New Year’s Eve, I tried to have fun with them. We shared dinner and went drinking together. We talked about life, plans and everything until the atmosphere got more exciting and the clock on TV started to flash numbers. Everyone was shouting 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3,2, 1. Then, there were sounds popping and colours floating in the air. Happy New Year! What a beautiful way to celebrate a new year! Sadly, it would be my last new year celebration with them.

Hello Tokyo

I left Fukuoka because I am moving to Tokyo. But I have always thought that living and working in Tokyo is tough. And this is also actually what people in Fukuoka said to me when I talked about Tokyo. Well, whatever reasons they have, mine is that I am very bad at directions. To be honest, I have already lost a number of times. I wonder how many times left before I get used to the more complicated transportation and subway systems in Tokyo. I have prepared myself for many challenges to come. But I am very happy that I made it come to my current residence on my own from Fukuoka.

My New Team

Coming to Tokyo is joining a new team. Fortunately, my new team in Ueno is very welcoming. They are very nice.  And fortunately, I have already known the three in the team for some time. We used to work in Cebu. The beautiful lady in the middle is my new supervisor. Again, I am the only thorn among the roses. But as one we are powerful. Like in the photo, we are showing off how powerful Team Ueno is by releasing the “Super Ueno Energy”.

Life is Good

Our team is also managed by another company called LIG. LIG means Life is Good. Indeed, it is good because, on my first day at work, I had to get to know with almost 20 people. And there’s more like a hundred to meet in the future. LIG family is big and composed of writers, designers, artists, and many more. Interestingly, they are all talented, incredibly creative and very competitive. They are also very nice and fun to work with. And next week, I am going to Nagano together with these people for a business trip.  Wow! I think this is just a beginning.

Thus, I find Tokyo life interesting and amazing especially getting to know more people and I will definitely capture the best moments because I am living now the life that is really good.
